Archaeology of the Johannes Kolb Site
Since 1995, Darlington County has been the focus of a collaborative archaeological project between SCDNR, USC Lancaster and the Diachronic Research Foundation. Known as the Johannes Kolb Site, this tract of preserved land has yielded objects and information which reveals 12,000 years of human habitation on the Great Pee Dee River. Come explore this unique educational exhibit and uncover our incredible history at the Florence Museum.
