The Florence Museum’s beginnings were closely related to local volunteerism during World War I. The World War Hall features art, objects, documents and photographs which illustrate both large and local contexts of United States’ involvement in both WWI and WWII. Of special interest are a WWI uniform once worn by John K. Bultman, a veteran of the 30th Infantry from Florence County, and several items from the Florence Army Air Base, which operated during WWII.
