Florence County is located within the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Its history and geography form an indivisible relationship that continues to influence the lives of people throughout the area.
Encompassing three galleries in the building’s upper level, the Pee Dee History Hall introduces the story of this region before the time of European exploration. Using the objects, art and archives of the museum’s permanent collections, this exhibit area begins with Natural History and Native Cultures, and expands into the present day. Highlighted areas include colonial settlement, the Revolutionary War, The Civil War, & modern conflicts.
