The Florence Museum is proud to be the
inaugural host of this year's annual juried
competition organized by The South Carolina
Watermedia Society. The show consists of 60
works created by SCWS members.

This year the competition was juried by New
York based artist Pat Dews. Dews's experience
as a professional artist and her long time
membership to such organizations as the
American Watercolor Society and the National
Watercolor Society made her uniquely qualified
to serve as this year's judge.

Thirty of the sixty works which make up this show have been
selected by Dews to become the Annual Traveling Exhibit,
which will tour venues throughout the state until the close of
the exhibit season. The Hartsville Museum in Hartsville, SC,
will be the first stop for these traveling works from December
1 - 31, 2009.


The Florence Museum would like to thank SCWS President,
Pollie Bristow, Director, Damita Jeter and Exhibit Chair, Lynda
English, as well as the many volunteers whose time,
dedication and effort made this year's exhibit a great success.
