Dear Educator,
The Florence Museum would like to invite you and your class to our Discoveries program designed for students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. This program focuses on South Carolina Art and History, as well as changing selections from the Florence Museum’s permanent art collection and eight main galleries. These galleries are organized under subjects that include: Florence History, The Civil War, Archeology, Native Artist: William H. Johnson, Asian Artifacts, Pueblo Pottery, and more.
By clicking on the link below, you will find information on how to prepare your students for a tour. You will also find directions to the Florence Museum, a list of visual preparatory terms and information on how the museum can help customize your Discoveries tour to your specific age group and level of ability. The museum is located adjacent to Timrod Park, which provides a nice area for picnicking with students once your Discoveries tour is complete.
The vision of the Florence Museum is to bring the Pee Dee to the world and the world to the Pee Dee.
