WindblownGirl DominatesTybee Lighthouse

In judging an exhibition I look for creative individual expression, solid content or subject matter, competent handling of materials, and adherence to basic art principles with strong composition. These qualities are generally demonstrated in the awards given. Richard Johnson’s oil on canvas, “Windblown”, is unique in presentation and confident in handling of subject and materials. Alex Powers’s, “Girl Dominates”, shows strong drawing and composition skills. Dewey Ervin’s photograph eclipses photography with strong geometric composition and an artistic “Andrew Wyeth” feel.  With over two hundred entries there was a wide range of media from which to choose.  I tried to select good variety in the final choices and still maintain a quality show. The number of good photo entries was surprising to me and the high quality resulted in many being included. Hopefully the viewers will find enjoyment in these selections.
